The 64 hexagrams laid round the zodiac, at their true degrees. The order round the ring is not the King Wen order (1, 2, 3 ...). It is the binary circle that Shao Yong drew in the 11th century, the Fu Xi circle, laid on the zodiac. Human Design calls these figures gates and uses this wheel; this page shows the geometry only: positions, figures and opposites. Hover or tap a gate to see its opposite.

How to read it
The zodiac. The outer ring holds the twelve signs, Aries at the left and the signs running counter-clockwise, as in a printed chart. A degree scale runs inside it.
The gates. Each of the 64 cells is 5°37'30" wide (360 ÷ 64). Gate 41 begins at 2°00' Aquarius, and the rest follow round the ring.
The figures. Each cell shows its hexagram: a solid bar is a yang line, a broken bar is a yin line, with line 1 nearest the centre and line 6 outermost.
The binary pattern. Read each figure as a six-digit binary number, bottom line as the largest digit. Going round the ring from gate 41 the number counts 49 down to 32, jumps to 0 and counts up to 31, jumps to 63 and counts down to 50. Switch on "Shade by binary number" to see the two runs. This is the Fu Xi circle.
The opposite. The gate across the wheel is the same figure with every line flipped, solid to broken and broken to solid. The Gene Keys call such a pair "programming partners".
The lines. Each gate divides into six lines of 56'15", and line numbers follow the degrees. Tick marks show them; select a gate to see its six ranges.
The colours. They group the gates by the nine centres of the Human Design body chart. That grouping is the system's own rule, not part of the Zhouyi.
What is and is not here
Everything on the wheel is a fact that can be checked: the order is the Fu Xi circle (this library's build script asserts it), the degrees are arithmetic from the start point, and the opposite is computed from the figure. What the Human Design system adds to the Fu Xi circle is where it starts and the overlay of the zodiac. No Human Design or Gene Keys text is used, and nothing here says what a gate means for a person. For the Zhouyi's own sentences, open the hexagram in the library.
